The City of Sandpoint
It is difficult to present to the first-time visitor to the Sandpoint, Idaho area all of the things to do here. While there may not be all the glitzy activities of a big city you will find a lot to do here.
Our lake, Lake Pend Orielle (pronounced PON-dur-ray) offers every water sport imagineable: sailing, power boating, water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and, when you find one, rope swinging for a drop into the water.
Schweitzer Mountain Resort, about a 30 minute drive through Sandpoint from our front door, offers world-class skiing, snow boarding and cross country skiing. There are cross country trails all around the area and snow shoeing is a very popular winter time workout.
The four seasons bring a wide range of outdoor activities from various hunting and fishing seasons to incredible hiking trails and bike baths (road and off-road).
We have excellent restaurants, live music, and our historic theater, The Panida, is the pride of the area offering live theater, concerts, and art-house movies.
Whether you are returning to the area or visiting for the first time we are happy to direct you to what is happening in the area. Below are some of the annual events and the time of year the generally occur. More exact dates will display as they become known to us.
